Movie Night at Walt's Barn - June 2007
Movie Night at Walt's Barn - June 2007

Movie Night at Walt's Barn
June 16th, 2007

Last Saturday night we had the first "Movie Night at Walt's Barn" where we used a digital projector, and the large sound system, to project Walt Disney's "The Great Locomotive Chase" outside next to the Barn!

Carolwood and LALS members were invited to bring blankets and lawn chairs and setup in the large grassy area next to the Barn. The weather was PERFECT, and the projection came off well.

We opened up Walt's Barn at about 7:30 to let visitors go into the Barn before the movie began. We had several Carolwood members who were in town from Utah, Florida and other states who enjoyed this rare opportunity.

At about 8:30, just as it was dark enough to see the projected image, we put on some old Disney cartoons to start the evening off right. During the 30 minutes of cartoons, we used the popcorn kettle machine on loan from LALS to pop up fresh movie-style popcorn, which we bagged in small bags and distributed to everyone on the lawn.

The evening was fantastic, and we hope to do it again in the future. If you missed this one, don't miss the next!

Disneyland Railroad Appreciation Day at Walt's Barn

The Disneyland Railroad crew visited Walt's Barn on March 18, 2007 to see Walt's love of trains. It was a beautiful day, and visitors were treated to a rare opportunity to chat with the Disneyland engineers who get to operate Walt's "bigger" steam engines.
